The Carnegie Lake Rowing Association will hold its
twelfth annual ergometer race. Competitors will use the University's Concept II Model C
Indoor Rower, which are equipped with electronic performance monitors. The race
distance will be 2000 meters. As competitors row, the monitor will countdown the
distance remaining and will freeze the finish time at 2000 meters.
Medals will be awarded to first-place finishers in the following men's and women's
individual events: Open, Lightweight (Men, 165 lbs. or less; women, 135 lbs. or less),
Coxswains, Masters (ages 30-39, 40-49, 50-59, 60-69, 70+). Team Relay Race participants
must complete an individual race to be eligible for a relay team. Teams will be selected
after all the individual races are completed and will be based on results of individual
events. Every effort will be made to include all qualified members and make the teams
even. All members, regardless of skill level, are encouraged to participate in this
friendly in-house competition. Only 1999 club members are eligible.
All entries are subject to fitness qualification approval by the coaching staff; ask
if youre unsure. This race will provide all members with an opportunity to
realize some winter training goals, receive a great workout, race against friends and have
a good time.
Complete and detach the race entry form (mailed to each member with the February Carnegie

the waiver on the back. Place your form in the mailbox located at the outside
