grey shaded name on boat line-ups designates the Boat Captain, responsible for:

1 alerting crew to boatings and practices
2 finding cox subs, if necessary
3 ensures turnout for loading/unloading
4 ensures boats are rigged and crews are ready at the regatta

 

Schedule

June 21 - July 1 practices during competitive sessions**
Friday July 2 5:30 PM loading boats at the boathouse (all)
Saturday July 3 8:00 AM trailer leaves boathouse
Saturday July 3 9:30 AM assemble and rig in Philadelphia at Canoe Club
Saturday July 3 7:00 PM unloading boats at the boathouse (Saturday racers)
Sunday July 4 8:00 AM trailer leaves boathouse
Sunday July 4 9:30 AM assemble and rig in Philadelphia at Canoe Club
Sunday July 4 7:00 PM unloading boats at the boathouse (Sunday racers)

** All boats practice during the competitive session. We do not expect to see any subs but please talk to coaches at least 48 hours in advance if you do need a sub. Boat captains are responsible for finding cox subs.

 

Boat Captains

grey shaded name on boat line-ups designates the Boat Captain, responsible for:

3 ensures turnout for loading/unloading
4 ensures boats are rigged and crews are ready at the regatta
All boat line-ups are subject to change.   Sign up on the day you are scheduled to practice.  Indicate "race" after your name to help the coaches make up the daily line-ups.
Please help with rigging and loading activities.
Arrange your transportation in advance.
Wear a club shirt for racing.
Coxswains are responsible for their own CoxBox® and bow numbers.
Race Distance: 1000 meters for masters;  Floating starts.
Race Distance: 2000 meters all other events; Staked starts.
Heats, as required, will be run on Saturday morning for Saturday events and Sunday morning for Sunday events.  Racing begins at 8:00 AM each day, with finals beginning approximately at 1:00 PM each day
Age handicapping will apply to masters races.   USRowing master definitions apply.  Ages as of December 31, 1999.
Schuylkill Navy wristwatches will be awarded to winners in all listed events.

 

Directions

Take I95 South towards Philadelphia.   Exit 17 to I676 West to exit for Ben Franklin Parkway.  Right at stop sign for one short block to traffic light.  Left on Ben Franklin Parkway towards Art Museum.   Go right around Art Museum following signs to Kelly Drive.  Kelly Drive to Canoe Club on left.  Estimated driving time from the boathouse: 1 hour.
