Boat Captains

grey shaded name on boat line-ups designates the Boat Captain, responsible for:

1 alerting crew to boatings and practices
2 finding cox subs, if necessary
3 ensures turnout for loading/unloading
4 ensures boats are rigged and crews are ready at the regatta

Schedule

July 7-23 practices during competitive sessions**

Sunday July 25 8:30 AM assemble and rig in Middletown
Sunday July 25 Approximately 8:30 PM unloading boats at the boathouse; call the LakerLine at 609 683-1618, Mailbox #8 after 6:00 PM to hear the exact time for unloading

** All boats practice during the competitive session. We do not expect to see any subs but please talk to coaches at least 48 hours in advance if you do need a sub. Boat captains are responsible for finding cox subs.

 

SPECIAL NOTE
Jean Smith, widow of Howard M. Smith will be at the regatta.  Lakers are encouraged to take a minute to say hello to her.

 

All boat line-ups are subject to change.   Sign up on the day you are scheduled to practice.  Indicate "race" after your name to help the coaches make up the daily line-ups.
Please help with rigging and loading activities.
Arrange your transportation in advance.
Wear a club shirt for racing.
Coxswains are responsible for their own CoxBox® and bow numbers.
Race Distance: 1000 meters for all races. Staked starts.  Finals only format: all heats are finals.
Racing is at the site of the filming of Dead Poet's Society on a six lane buoyed course.
Launch 30 minutes before race time.
Medals will be awarded to the winners of each race. The Dead Poet's Trophy will be awarded to the club with the most winning points overall and the Ron McConnell Trophy to the club with the most points in sculling events.

 

DIRECTIONS
I95 South through Philadelphia and Wilmington
Take exit 896 South to 301/71 (about 10 miles. 896 goes left, 301/71 is straight ahead)
Go straight onto 301/71 to 71 (about 3 miles. Just after Shallcross Chevrolet)
Bear left (and across the railroad tracks) onto 71 to Noxontown Road (2.3 miles…takes you through town past Middletown HS and St. Anne's Church and Cemetery. Should be marked by a sign pointing toward St. Andrews School)
Left onto Noxontown Road to the entrance to the regatta (about 1 mile…entrance is on your right)
