Boat Captain

gray shaded name on boat line-ups designates the Boat Captain, responsible for:

1

alerting crew to boatings and practices

2

finding coxswains for practices and let competition captain know who they are

3

ensures turnout for loading/unloading

4

ensures boats are rigged and crews are ready at the regatta (all to arrive at site two hours before race time)

All times are estimated and are subject change... stay tuned

 

Very relaxed regatta; expect changes.  Be there early and plan to stay after the last race to enjoy the picnic with the other clubs.
DO NOT SIGN UP for Practice on the days you have race practice
Remember you must recruit a substitute if you will miss a practice.

All boat line-ups are subject to change.   

Please help with rigging and loading activities.

Please bring a salad for the picnic/BBQ after the regatta.  The other clubs will provide other picnic food.

Arrange your transportation in advance.

Wear a club shirt or unisuit for racing.

Coxswains are responsible for their own CoxBox® and bow numbers.

Race Distance: 1000 meters for all races. Staked starts.  Finals only format: all heats are finals.  

 

DIRECTIONS
I-95 South through Philadelphia to Wilmington, Exit 6 - Wilmington Blvd/Fourth Street.  Go directly ahead from the exit to the 4th traffic light at M.L. King Blvd (about 0.2 miles). Turn left and go to the 3rd traffic light at Maryland Avenue and South Madison Street (about 0.2 miles).  You will see the Delaware Power Building with 3 flagpoles in front at this corner.  Turn Right on South Madison Street.  Do not turn on to Maryland Avenue.  Go about 0.3 miles to an opening in the fence on your left; Department of Public works - Maintenance Yard.  Turn left through the gate and follow the fence on your right to the boathouse.  Estimated driving time from the boathouse: 1 hrs 30 min.

To Return - go back to M.L. King Blvd, turn right, get in the left lane - Orange Street Must Exit.  Take hairpin left turn at the exit and follow signs to I-95 North.
